Movie of The Month....

Antwone Fisher is one of my favorite films, so I have chosen it for the October movie spotlight.
Antwone Fisher tells the story of an orphan and his journey to find out who he really is and find the family he has been missing all his life.
This movie is very uplifting and inspiring!

X-Men Orgins: Wolverine

If your a fan of the X-Men movies then this show might be right up you alley, otherwise skip it.

Wolverine is one of the most memorable characters in the X-Men series and in this movie we are introduced to how Wolverine came to be.

Shortly after losing the love of his life Logan (Hugh Jackman) goes on a hunt for the man who killed her seeking justice. Upon the start of his quest Logan is met by an old friend who says that he can make him indestructible so the he can be successful in his quest.

After being injected with a metal substance that practically makes Logan an unstoppable mass of rage, he is on the hunt for revenge and is met with other's with powers such as his. Thus begins the legacy of Wolverine.

This Movie was okay, for someone who is a fan it might be right up your alley, but otherwise proves to be nothing but a noisey mess of action sequences.

One and a half stars * 1/2

X-Men Orgins Wolverine is rated PG-13: For Intense Sequences of Action and Violence and some Partial Nudity

Starring Hugh Jackman

Running Time 1hr and 47mins

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

Connor Mead is a succesful photographer with the life anyone could ever dream of, the most important part being that he has a different woman every night.
Connor is a playboy in case you didn't get that from the above paragraph and thus begins this terrible wannabe spin off of Charles Dickens classic tale A Christmas Carol taking it on with a different twist.
When Connor goes home for his brothers wedding he is reunited with his old heart throb Jenny (Jennifer Garner) who completley despises him for things he did to her in the past.
Upon arriving at the rehersal dinner for his brother and soon to be sister in law, all Connor can think about his how to sleep with everyone of the brides maids and this is how the whole first part of the movie literally is to the point where it becomes annoying.
Connor is greeted by the ghost of his dead uncle who taught him how to be the ladies man. Connor is told that he will be greeted by three ghosts that will take him through his past and hopefully he will turn his life around and be a decent human being.
Connor retires to his room with one of the Bridesmaids in his quest to get them all laid when he is greeted by his first ghost, and the rest is history.
To make a long story short Connor learns his lesson and gets back together with his childhood love Jenny. Ahhh how sweet.
This movie was 100% ridiculous from start to finish and it's not even worth a full review because the whole point of the show was to see how many woman you can get laid in a lifetime and learning from your mistakes.
I'm embarresed for everyone who had to take part in the crapy movie. The most memorable part of the movie was when it ended.
No Stars.
Ghosts of Girlfriends Past Rated PG-13 For Sexual Content Throughout, some language and a drug reference.
Starring Matthew McConhaughey Jennifer Garner and Michael Douglas

Love Happens Review

Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart shine in the latest romantic movie to hit theaters.

Burke Ryan (Aaron Eckhart) is an on the rise so called Dr. Phil who helps people cope with the lose of loved ones and is in Seattle for a week to host one of his many self help group seminars in the hope's to help others along with their greiving process, but little does the group know Burke is suffering himself but hopes that he can escape his problems by helping others with theirs.

3 years prior to Burke Ryans fame he lost his wife in a tragic accident and has not been able to forgive himself for what has happened, and ends up avoiding his in-laws because he feels her death was his fault.

While in Seattle, Burke meets Eloise (Jennifer Aniston) at the hotel he is conducting his seminar. After a first meeting with Eloise, she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with him thus giving him a classic brush off, but as with all love stories they decide to overcome their dislike for each other and give it a try.

As Burke and Eloise get to know one another better, Eloise finds out why Burke has been burdened all this time and feels that she needs to help him overcome his struggles, and all the while the two start to realize that when you least expect it, love is waiting right around the corner.

There are sweet moments in this film and there are also tear jerker moments which took me by suprise. I didn't expect to get teary eyed in a film such as this. All in all this film was touching and I really enjoyed Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart in their roles.

Great Movie

Hancock

There are Heros... There are Superheros..... and then there's Hancock a man with super human powers that does good, saves lives, but alway ends up leaving a huge mess behind.

The public views Hancock as a menace to society, thus leaving Hancock not really caring how he handles things. That is until one day he saves the life of Ray Embry and he realizes that he just might have more quality than everyone is giving him credit for.

Ray takes on Hancock, in the sense that he try's to help him to not be so destructive everytime he rescues someone or something and Hancock has no Idea who he really is and is still trying to figure out what it is he really was ment to do.

Mary, Ray's wife believes that Hancock is nothing but a phony for a hero and try's to convince Ray that he is wasting his time. But little do we know that their is a reason for Mary's hatred toward Hancock and we find out why later on in the movie.

After an incident Hancock is involved in, he is sent to prison and Ray hopes that the puplic will realize just how much they need him. And as for Hancock, he is about to see what his life's purpose really is.

I was impressed with this movie, it turned out to be a great one! And the acting helped out alot.

Disney Nature's Earth

I finally was able to see this movie and it was amazing! From the Artic to the African desert we spend one year in the life of the animals that share the planet we call earth.

In this film we get to follow the expidition of 3 families across the earth. The Polar Bears, Humpback Whales, The African Elephants (and some other unique animals) in their quest to find a new life after a period of winter.

It's truly neat to see what these different groups of animals go through in order to survive each day. Not to mention the long treck they must face each year.

I'm not a nature fan by any means, but this particular movie has heart and the scenery in this movie is amazing!

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad

Since we are approching the fun holiday that is Halloween, I thought I would throw out some fun film suggestions that might get you in the mood.

This particular film, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad combines two of Walt Disney's classic short movies. The one that is best suited for the holiday would be that of Ichabods tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hallow.

The Legend of Sleepy Hallow is a classic tale that will get anyone pumped for Halloween!

All About Steve

We went and saw All About Steve and loved it!

Mary Horowitz (Sandra Bullock) is a crossword constructor for the Sacramento news paper, and when it comes to her job she is very good at it but when it comes to relationships, that's another story.

When Mary's parents set her up on a blind date with a guy named Steve (Bradley Cooper), it's love at first sight! At least for Mary it is.

Upon meeting Mary, Steve creates a reason as to why he cannot continue on their date, that Mary thinks is going so well. Steve tells Mary he needs to be in Boston to cover the latest in breaking news (as he is a camera man for the CCN news network) and leaves Mary with the false impression that he wishes she could come with him but can't because she has a job.

When Mary loses her job at the Sacramento news paper for creating a crossword puzzle titled; All About Steve, she gets the idea that now she can fulfil Steve's wish and go with him wherever his job may take him!

Now Mary is out on the prowl to find the man of her dreams, and she end's up meeting new friends along the way, and discovers that she just might not need a man to complete her life.

When Steve's co-worker gets Mary involved with one of the biggest news scoop's, Steve will discover that by Mary just herself and not caring what others think, that just may be enough to have the life you really want.

The thing that is charming about this movie is Mary. She plays a charming and heartwarming character that teaches us, it's o.k. to just be who you are.

The message of the movie is touching, heartwarming and on top of that, it was one enjoyable comedy.
