We went and saw All About Steve and loved it!
Mary Horowitz (Sandra Bullock) is a crossword constructor for the Sacramento news paper, and when it comes to her job she is very good at it but when it comes to relationships, that's another story.
When Mary's parents set her up on a blind date with a guy named Steve (Bradley Cooper), it's love at first sight! At least for Mary it is.
Upon meeting Mary, Steve creates a reason as to why he cannot continue on their date, that Mary thinks is going so well. Steve tells Mary he needs to be in Boston to cover the latest in breaking news (as he is a camera man for the CCN news network) and leaves Mary with the false impression that he wishes she could come with him but can't because she has a job.
When Mary loses her job at the Sacramento news paper for creating a crossword puzzle titled; All About Steve, she gets the idea that now she can fulfil Steve's wish and go with him wherever his job may take him!
Now Mary is out on the prowl to find the man of her dreams, and she end's up meeting new friends along the way, and discovers that she just might not need a man to complete her life.
When Steve's co-worker gets Mary involved with one of the biggest news scoop's, Steve will discover that by Mary just herself and not caring what others think, that just may be enough to have the life you really want.
The thing that is charming about this movie is Mary. She plays a charming and heartwarming character that teaches us, it's o.k. to just be who you are.
The message of the movie is touching, heartwarming and on top of that, it was one enjoyable comedy.
